We are just a few months away from the inaugural Virgin Sport U.S. event which aims to move people through sport and thus change the health and wellness game for good. This event will take place in San Francisco on Saturday, October 14th and Sunday, October 15th, 2017 and will include a Saturday morning 1 Mile Hill Climb up Twin Peaks and a Sunday morning Half Marathon and Event Village that includes a variety of fitness activities at Civic Center Plaza. The organizers are working closely with the City of San Francisco to ensure permitting and community impact are properly addressed and that any disruptions will be minimized.
The 1 Mile Hill Climb up Twin Peaks will be held Saturday, October 14th in the morning on Twin Peaks Blvd from Portola Drive to the top. The Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday October 15th, beginning and ending at Civic Center Plaza.
There will be road closures in the Lower Polk area.
These roads will be closing to allow runners to pass through and will reopen on a rolling basis as the final runners pass through. Please see the attached map of the course route for the Half Marathon and the estimated timing for the road closures below. San Francisco police officers, as well as race marshals, will be on hand to assist both runner and vehicular traffic.Virgin Sport Half Marathon Map
